Srdan Babovic, M.D. Dr. Babovic is an accomplished and experienced physician and surgeon who has had extensive training at leading medical institutions in the United States and abroad. He has conducted medical research and published research findings in leading professional journals. His main areas of interest are cosmetic surgery and breast reconstruction. Dr. Babovic was born in Belgrade. He received his medical degree from the University of Sarajevo in 1981. Following graduation he conducted basic research at the university for two years and in 1982 served his surgical internship at the University Medical Center in Sarajevo. He followed that with a residency in plastic surgery which he completed in 1989. He was a resident in plastic surgery at the University Clinical Center in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 1989. He became a Fellow in Microsurgery at Canniesburn Hospital in Glasgow in 1992. From 1992-1995 Dr. Babovic was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Johns Hopkins University. From 1995 to 2000 he completed a residency in general surgery at Mayo Clinic and a fellowship in plastic surgery. Since 2000 he has been a practicing plastic surgeon, first with Plastic Surgery Associates in St. Paul, and currently at Olmsted Medical Center.
